BrewHub has been providing services to Arup for many years. Back when the Perth Arup team called Exchange Tower home, the only services we provided were maintaining another company’s coffee machine, as well as 1.5 hours of daily valet service. No BrewHub coffee machines or consumables were provided by us during this time.
But when Arup expanded its operations and moved into WS2, the company teamed up with BrewHub in a whole new way. From a regional perspective, Arup had some clear objectives and worked closely with BrewHub to achieve these. Firstly, they wanted consistency in service providers across their national offices. They also aimed to achieve Well Platinum certification and to ‘level-up’ their workplace experience.
After in-depth consultation with the Arup team, it was agreed that we would provide the WS2 workplace with one traditional coffee machine and two TopBrewer machines, one with sparkling water. To service this expansion, we increased our valet service to 4.5 hours daily, covering both morning and afternoon shifts. We also began supplying consumables such as tea, coffee, milk, and fruits, and assisting with meeting room setups.
“I love how Arup creates a strong sense of community. The team is always friendly, transparent and engaged, and they genuinely appreciate what we have provided.”

Investment in in-house coffee.
Would staff embrace staying in the building for coffee and engagement, versus grabbing a coffee from a café off-site?
Concern about tomorrow’s needs.
The team at Arup wanted to make sure components could be added to their configuration to cater for future growth and preferences, like a chocolate rack, a chai pump and chiller units.
Having the machine, but not the expertise.
Arup were keen for a traditional coffee machine but knew the team lacked barista skills. Would this affect the quality of the coffee on offer?
Accommodating the equipment.
The traditional coffee machine, Grinder and PuqPress needed adequate space in the cabinetry to ensure the machines could be installed.
Adhering to WELL standards.
We needed to make sure we were maximising consumables, helping to meet WELL standards in fuelling bodies so they could perform optimally in the workplace.
Involving the wider Arup team in the selections.
Arup staff were involved in choosing the offerings, including selecting coffee blends and milk varieties. BrewHub hosted three coffee tasting sessions where we showcased four different blends, which received enthusiastic feedback from Arup staff. This helped foster a real investment in what was to come.
Considering the future as well as the present.
We knew how vital it was to choose the right equipment from the get-go. To ensure the correct decisions were made, we included a show-and-tell session held at Fern for the Arup team to really showcase the operational options of TopBrewer and how its offerings could be further customised over time.
Providing training to the team.
Our CSM team provided traditional coffee machine training to the team at Arup during a three-day event, improving their coffee-making skills and ensuring the team truly understood the machine.
Working closely with designers and builders.
We engaged in open discussions with the WS2 design team during the drawing process and worked closely with the project builder to understand the requirements of the TopBrewer units and how they could be most effectively installed.
Using our extensive WELL certification knowledge for maximum impact.
Our valets never run dishwashers unless they are full, are conscious of waste and always order correct quantities of milk. We were also happy to use Arup’s e-water system instead of commercial cleaners to keep the hubs sparkling clean.
The partnership between BrewHub Australia and Arup has been extremely successful.
The expansion to WS2, together with pre-opening activities and ongoing support, has had a hugely positive impact on Arup’s office environment. The team at Arup has reported more engagement around hydration points, and productivity is up as people are choosing to stay in the workplace rather than leave to grab a coffee or snack. Operations are running smoothly and areas are being kept clean and tidy by staff thanks to valets setting a gold-star standard.
“Staff seem to enjoy the hubs, especially at the espresso bar—they’re relaxed, chatting, and making the most of the space. It feels like a welcoming spot where people like to take a break and connect.”
