DLA Piper Perth’s relationship with BrewHub

DLA Piper has a highly collaborative relationship with BrewHub, – their office coffee machine supplier of choice since 2014.  They both share a genuine commitment to finding an innovative solution, when faced with workplace change. It made sense for DLA Piper to consult BrewHub with plans for their progressive new office design.

In the words of our client, what’s new for DLA Piper in Perth?

  • As soon as the COVID-19 restriction rules loosened, we were excited to open our brand new office space at TWO FORTY in the Perth CBD.
  • Our staff now have open plan desks – no longer siloed away from their colleagues in separate offices.
  • There is a generous, break out hub for staff to take a break and connect with each other.
  • A modern DLA Piper ‘Cafe’ is the focus of the hub, offering breakfast daily, a pantry stacked full with snacks, fruit and teas with great tasting coffee, sparkling and still water on tap.
  • We’ve also created two additional tea and water ‘Refresh’ stations within the open plan office space.

The new office space was commissioned during the COVID-19 lockdown so the transition back to a completely new and unfamiliar space was doubly strange for our teams. It became especially important for us to make sure the space was really special for our staff.

 

What was DLA Piper looking for?speech icon

We were looking to spoil our staff! We appreciate their hard work and wanted the new hub to be as inviting and inclusive as possible.
  1. We wanted clients to recognise DLA Piper’s office as a positive and collaborative space, reflecting critical workplace values they share.
  2. Our vision was a sleeker, ‘cleaner’, and efficient kitchen and coffee brewing experience for staff. Less mess; no coffee and milk spills on the counter!
  3. We are serious about reducing waste. We were concerned about the number of discarded open and half-used bottles of water.

Was BrewHub able to enhance your new offices?

Yes! BrewHub introduced us to the amazing Scanomat TopBrewer and TopWater, now pride of place on the stone bench counter in our staff hub Café.
  1. The minimalist TopBrewer tap and seamless touch controls have completely streamlined coffee making for our staff. Spills and noise are eliminated and the hardware is neatly concealed under the bench counter.
  2. Our staff know their coffee! They look forward to having coffee at work and tell us they want a TopBrewer at home! The TopBrewer is definitely drawing staff to the hub where they are connecting more than ever before.
  3. BrewHub also recommended Scanomat’s latest innovation – the new TopWater tap with sparkling and still water. We like them so much we installed two! One in the Café and one in the breakout hub. A gamechanger for DLA Piper, they eliminate bottles and move us much closer to important waste reduction and sustainability goals.

Our focus was the staff hub because we wanted everyone to come together, whether to eat breakfast or lunch, or to simply connect over a conversation. We wanted to offer everything they might enjoy – the best cup of coffee, tea or sparkling water, all on tap. That was the main reason for putting the TopBrewer and TopWater in that area.
